KIMSDU, Karad saw the birth of interdisciplinary research conference within its premises in the year 2011. The aim of IRC is to encourage and motivate students, researchers and enthusiastic investigators of tomorrow in the field of Medical sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental sciences, & Biotechnology. This year the baton was passed with great expectations to host the IRC under the guidance of Dr. G. Varadharajulu, Principal, Krishna College of Physiotherapy, Karad & Joint organizing secretary IRC 2013.
For planning this conference multiple meetings at the University and Institutional level were held and this through ground work resulted in a splendid outcome with 406 registrations for the IRC this year having 149 registrations from KIMS, 55 from Nursing, 65 from Biotechnology, 58 from Dental sciences and 79 from Physiotherapy.
Post registration on 1st March, the first day of conference the inaugural function was conducted in the highly esteemed presence of the Chief Guest for the function Dr. Anil Avachat, Secretary of Muktangan Mitra, Pune, Hon’ble Principal Advisor Dr. Suresh Bhosale, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. A.V. Nadkarni and other Honorable Dignitaries. This program was followed by experts’ session where in Dr. Satyanarayana was the speaker from Discipline of Physiotherapy, Dr. Anilkumar Bhoweer from the Discipline of Dental sciences and Dr. Hamid Dabholkar from Medical Sciences.
There were total 85 Oral and 24 Poster Presentations, the highest were from medical i.e. 37 Oral and 11 Poster Presentations. After the successful end of the 1st day of conference on the second day a very informative, inspiring, brainstorming and intellectually nourishing sessions were conducted by Dr. Tapti Bhattacharji from the discipline of Nursing sciences and Dr. Mohan R. Wani from the Biotechnology followed by Silver Jubilee Oration delivered by Dr. Anita Kar, Professor, Pune University. This Conference has received 4 credit points for delegates.
