Faculty of Allied Sciences was started in the year of 2007, with the inspiration
from our first Chancellor of KIMSDU, Karad Late Hon’ble Shri. Jayawantraoji Bhosale
and with the keen interest of our first Vice Chancellor Hon’ble Dr. Suresh Bhosale.
It is a constituent faculty of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University,
Karad. Faculty of Allied Sciences has clear objectives and goals. It is striving
to provide cutting edge knowledge and practical experience in all the sectors of
Biotechnology and Microbiology. The Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology
of the Faculty of Allied Sciences has Four separate well - equipped laboratories;
viz.; Biotechnology Laboratory, Microbiology laboratory, Computer Laboratory, and
Tissue Culture Laboratory and two good lectures halls with ICT facilities. It has experienced
qualified faculty. It has also good Departmental library. Pass out students of the
Department find good placements in variety of fields like Pharmaceutical Industries,
Food Industries, dairy Industries and Academic Institutions. Many of the students
of the Department have progressed further for enrollment of Ph. D. programme of
other Universities. Courses offered in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology
are M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Microbiology

Eligibility Criteria
M.Sc. Biotechnology
|
A Candidate who has passed a B.Sc. examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks
with Biotechnology / Microbiology / Industrial Microbiology / Zoology / Botany,
Biochemistry as the principal subject and a candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination
with Biophysics / Chemistry / Physics as the principal subject with Biochemistry
/ Microbiology /Botany / Zoology as subsidiary subjects at B.Sc. II level from any
U.G.C. recognized University or equivalent shall be eligible for consideration for
admission provided he/she passes entrance examination conducted by this University for
the purpose of eligibility and subsequent admission as per rules and regulations
of the University.

M.Sc. Microbiology.
|
A Candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks with
Microbiology / Industrial Microbiology as the principal subject and a candidate
who has passed B.Sc. examination with Biotechnology / Zoology / Botany / Biochemistry
/ Chemistry as the principal subject having Microbiology as subsidiary subject at
B.Sc. II level from any U.G.C. recognized University or equivalent examination shall
be eligible for consideration for admission provided he/she passes entrance examination
conducted by this University for the purpose of eligibility and subsequent admission
as per rules and regulations of the University.
